Title: Burn Out
Artist: Lily Logan Goff '22
Photographers's Statement: This past year, especially the last few months leading up to its end, has left me and many more running on a low battery and quickly becoming burnt out. I struggled to find the motivation to keep up with school and to be inspired creatively. But if this semester has taught me anything, when we hit low points in our life, we can use the opportunity to recharge and reflect.
The minimalism within the image represents a duality of using this time to either reinvent yourself from the ground up or encapsulates the feeling of losing out on life experiences-especially in relation to the college experience.
The lightbulbs portray a struggle to meet demands, burning through ideas and solutions while not having the energy to support those interests. On the flip-side, the light bulbs also represent the chance to discover untapped creativity and innovation, especially since the unplugged lamp and low battery computer signify how we can become burnt out and find ourselves needing a break.
