Photographers's Statement: When quarantine began last year, I indulged bad habits and acted lazily. As the weeks and months dragged on, the days blending together, and the news of the day becoming too much to look at anymore, the focus would begin to shift towards myself. While social justice movements fight for the rights of underprivileged people, why was it that I was left so unaffected by globally affective events? My privilege is what allowed me to indulge bad habits and act lazy. A partial self-portrait of myself photographing the white light reflected in the mirror visualizes the maudlin effect of understanding one's privilege.
